Corpostudio.in uses the Stott Pilates method. What is it and why?
The Stott Pilates method is the contemporary approach to the original Pilates, updated and perfected on the base of the latest research in the medical field and in the field of motor science studies.

Defined Contrology as the “art of control” by its creator Joseph Pilates

(https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Pilates) at the beginning of the 20th century, the original method was based precisely on the assumption that the mind could control the movement of the body and particularly the postural muscles, located at the centre of the spine.
In fact, it could be said that Pilates was born from years of study and a strong desire for
redemption.
Joseph was a sickly but very determined child and it was his determination that took him far: boxer, swimmer, bodybuilder, model and self-defence instructor… in short, a high-level sportsman. It was his experiences in England during the war, first in a concentration camp and later as a stretcher bearer in a hospital, that determined his destiny.

A real field study!
Training the inmates and rehabilitating the war wounded allowed him to develop the famous Pilates method and to design the first equipments now known by all as the Reformer and the Cadillac.

Corpostudio InmaWhat has changed?
Since then many things have changed, first of all people’s lifestyle and with it their posture, pathologies and the studies connected to them.
Through constant research in the medical-scientific field, which ranges from physiotherapy to postural and rehabilitative gymnastics, the Stott school continues to perfect the method so that it is increasingly efficient and current.

Pilates today is suitable for everyone!
Thanks to the updates and the inclusion of many modifications, the Stott method today is now suitable for people of all genders and ages, with an almost personalised study and training that combines strength and flexibility for a total psycho-physical well-being and a constant improvement in quality of life.

Corpostudio teamThe main objectives are: to restore the natural curve of the spine, rebalance the muscles around the joints and the torso including the abdomen, glutes, adductors and lumbar area.
In this way, both the back muscles and the abdominals are strengthened, the so-called Power House.

All this respecting the 5 basic principles:

  1. breathing
  2. pelvic positioning
  3. thoracic positioning
  4. scapular stabilisation and mobilisation
  5. cranial and cervical positioning
